The Dawn Slade-Faull Award commemorates the life of Dawn Slade-Faull, an Adelaide artist and a great advocate for people with a disability.
Inaugurated in 1988, nearly one hundred South Australian artists from a diverse range of disciplines have received the Award to further their creative development.
The Award has allowed me to stay connected and not lose momentum in my practice when it really got derailed by my health.
The Award helped me get a catalogue done. I brought more paint and canvas, and I had my first solo exhibition.
The Award has helped me a lot to follow my passion. I love building things out of clay. It’s a living thing. It feels organic. It’s a beautiful thing, building clay sculptures.
